This week's update

Hey everybody.

I guess you didn't understand what I meant by "you have no excuse." There's a lot of times when we email in the morning. My phone doesn't have internet. I only get to see the emails I got from Monday. IF YOU WRITE ON TUESDAY, I MIGHT NOT SEE IT! Hopefully I will have time to read emails later. At least I'll have stuff next week.

Now that I finished my little rant, this last week's been pretty good. We finished teaching Nik, Rachelle and Tommy all of the principles, and are just setting up their interviews. Tommy still is working on stopping smoking, but he's doing awesome. He came to a game night we set up, and to church this week, and loved both. The hit at the games night was this table hockey game, it's lots of fun!

The travelling trainers came for our district meeting this week. Basically it's two missionaries who spend an entire transfer training the mission. It was lots of fun, Elder Ipson and Olmsted are both great missionaries, and we had a really good meeting.

For next week, I don't know when we're sending an email. We're going to Saint Pierre Monday through Wednesday, so I'm just waiting for a reply from him to let you know when you'll get the next. I guess you won't get to know though, cause he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Oh well. Maybe I'll get to read some emails.

Love ya, speak to y'all next week!

Got my travel plans!

Bonjour tout le monde!        This has been a crazy week! We've been super busy with lessons, we have had two or three lessons a day, and lots of really good devotionals.  On Sunday , we had Chad Lewis come and talk, and that was really cool. He talked about his mission, his career, his chance to do this hike up Kilimanjaro with a bunch of wounded soldiers from Iraq, kinda all over the place. It was more like a slide show than the kind of devotionals before. It was still good, but I definitely preferred Elder Oaks. We watched A Consecrated Missionary, by Tad Callister, for our film after, it was really good. I really love the  Sunday  films, gunna miss that in the field.         I also finally meet some other people going to Halifax! There are 4 sisters, and one other Elder, I'll be flying out with them on the 26th. I'm pretty sure I get to call you guys before I leave the airport on my flight, but I think they talk about t...

First few days!

First few days are down, and it's going good! When I got here I went straight to a lesson in French, and six hours of lessons later I'm supposed to teach a lesson in complete French to an investigator, write a talk in French, and memorize the missionary purpose statement.  Our zone has about 60 missionaries, most speaking French, going to Lyon, France, but some to Paris as well. There are a lot of Haitian Creole speaking missionaries, and some Malagasy speaking missionaries as well. Two are going to New Caledonia (discussed below). I'm the only one going to Canada, let alone going to Halifax.         My companion is Elder Hable (like table but with an H) and he's really good. He's going to New Caledonia, which is by Australia. He took French for 6 years, and he's by far the best of our district so far. He likes baseball, favorite team is the Red Sox, so that's a plus, (Raelene) and is really kind to everyone. He got made the District leader last night, s...

Another week!

Hey, So like I said, I'm in Fredericton now. It's a good sized ward for New Brunswick, but I got a reminder on Sunday how that's still quite a bit smaller than wards around the world. This woman was visiting from Alberta, and bore her testimony in fast and testimony meeting, and she started out saying how she was grateful for the "branch" and its testimonies. Most of the members are pretty cool. There's the most young families I've ever seen here. A lot of the members are very funny too! We just got a new ward mission leader, he's from the Phillipines, and he's super awesome. He's been doing a lot of work to increase the members desire and expectation to share the gospel. I really hope I can see a lot of that growth change the ward. We only have one investigator right now, Jacob, an 11 year old son of a less active, who we're working with to reactivate. He's pretty excited about it, but he didn't come to church this Sund...
