Short Q&A

Short email today...he mostly answered a few of these questions:
  • What are your social media rules?
  • What's the ceremony to mark one year in your mission?
  • What differences have you noticed between your new mission president and your old one?
  • How are your investigators doing?
  • Have you picked up any Spanish? :)
  • What percentage of missionaries in your mission are really hard working and what are the craziest stories you've heard about missionaries? (Tonight at dinner we were talking about some of the wilder stories from our missions, like the elders on Shetland in dad's mission who grew beards and got busted because their faces were sunburned on the top but white where they had shaved, haha.)
  • What are you most grateful for after one year on your mission?
  • What are the biggest lessons you've learned this past year?
  • Did you get your birthday package yet? (And I guess related, when is zone conference?)

Hey all!

Thanks so much everyone for the birthday wishes! I got the package, and I loved the notes from everyone.

So for social media rules, there's quite a couple different rules. I can message people on Facebook and messager if they're in my area for finding and teaching people, communicating with people we're teaching, making posts and stories. We can use it to talk to family and people from back home on p days, like any emails.

There's a tradition to burn an item of clothing for each landmark date you hit. For 6 months, a tie, year, a shirt, 18 months are pants and 2 years a suit.

Luckily, our mission is very obedient. There aren't a lot of crazy things that happen in our mission, and they haven't happened her for a long time.

This week we had zone conference, and we found a new investigator. Her name is Wendy, and she's pretty cool! We're going to be teaching her on Thursday.

Love you all so much! Have a good time in England!

Transfers!!!

Hello!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ellie!!!!! I hope you had a great one!  So yes, I got transfered!! I'm going to Fredericton with Elder Olsen. We're going to be zone leaders, and I'm super excited!! Elder Olsen is one of my favorite elders, so we're going to be having a great time! They closed down Dieppe, so there are only two French areas now, Edmundston and Bathurst. Elder Smith went to Bathurst. The French areas are in New Brunswick, but the majority of the areas are English (like mine).  I had a pretty good week. Deji got baptized!!!!! It was so, so cool. I was one of the elders who found him, and I had a chance to teach him on exchanges. Then Sunday was really good too.  I'm doing really good health wise! I've had no problems. We found someone pretty cool. Her name is Monica, we found her through Facebook. We're going to teach her again tonight.  I liked going to the zoo a lot. We have played Settlers of Catan a lot together, except it...

Yes, it was Zone Conference

Salut tout le monde! Sorry that I didn't send that schedule again. I'm surprised they don't post that on the facebook page for all the parents. It's hard for me to remember that when you're not living your life 6 weeks at a time you don't normally keep track of when "week 2" is, so I'm sorry. I'll try to make sure to say in the email the week before anything like that happens.  I'm glad that you had a good week. Women's conference sounds like it was pretty nice. I know what you mean when you talked about having very crazy weeks! Also, I'm super jealous of being able to go see Avengers, even if the ending was bad. I keep seeing posters for it everywhere, and I'm pretty curious as how they made the whole connection to Guardians. But I guess I'll find out in 450ish days. (That gives me chills, agh!) I'm looking forward to  Sunday  too! You guys have church at 10 right? There is a  ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ >...

Got my travel plans!

Bonjour tout le monde!        This has been a crazy week! We've been super busy with lessons, we have had two or three lessons a day, and lots of really good devotionals.  On Sunday , we had Chad Lewis come and talk, and that was really cool. He talked about his mission, his career, his chance to do this hike up Kilimanjaro with a bunch of wounded soldiers from Iraq, kinda all over the place. It was more like a slide show than the kind of devotionals before. It was still good, but I definitely preferred Elder Oaks. We watched A Consecrated Missionary, by Tad Callister, for our film after, it was really good. I really love the  Sunday  films, gunna miss that in the field.         I also finally meet some other people going to Halifax! There are 4 sisters, and one other Elder, I'll be flying out with them on the 26th. I'm pretty sure I get to call you guys before I leave the airport on my flight, but I think they talk about t...
