Merry Christmas!

Hello everybody! I have a couple questions this week. First, did you read what Boo wrote on the Christmas card? (Liked the picture by the way.) If so, why on earth would you send that to me?  I don't appreciate the spoilers. Because now if they are real, then I already know and I really didn't want that spoiled, and if they're not true, then if you email me and tell me they're not true, that would actually spoil the movie! It's a lose-lose situation for me. I guess the best I can do is hope Boo enjoys the pain and suffering he has caused me, that scruffy little nerf herder. (Joey wrote some fake Star Wars spoilers...we wrote back so Robbie knows the card was sent before the movie even came out 😉). Second, where is Bro. Hyde going on his mission?!?!?! That's an awful cliffhanger! (This is a couple in our ward, I thought I had already told Robbie this news...they are called as the secretary and assistant secretary to the Asia Area Presidency.) Anyway,...

Hello again from Canada!

Hello again from Canada!        These last couple of days have been crazy, we've gotten tons of snow! Over the last tree days I would guess we've gotten a foot, it's insane how crazy it's been coming down. To top it off, we had Christmas conference yesterday, so we were driving home in the storm. Got home safe, we didn't have any problems, but it was crazy how fast it happened.         Christmas conference was awesome though. It was divided into two parts, a more spiritual and a more fun bit. Kind of made me think about the Marsh family party, except backwards.  We sang some carols, had a gift exchange, ate lunch together, and had some musical numbers. It was fun!  I was in charge of arranging the music for it, and it went really well. We had a couple districts sing hymns, we had a sister play the harp, which sounded awesome, we had a piano solo by another missionary, Elder Harris, and there was a duo with piano and cello tha...

This week in Edmunston

Hi all, Hope you have all been having a good week. It's been pretty crazy for us, so I'll fill in what I can:         After emailing last, we had an exchange with Caribou, and were there  Wednesday . They hadn't checked the mail to see if they had a package slip, turns out they did, but I wasn't able to get it then. Then we had a pretty busy day  on Thursday , working in Grand Falls, we have a couple investigators there who are pretty awesome. One of them, Philip, is SO close to being baptized. All he has to do is come to church and drop his girlfriend, who he doesn't even like, and it's agonizing that it's not happening faster!  Friday  and  Saturday  we had the French temple trip, which was awesome! We did two endowment sessions in French, and had a devotional afterwards. I played a musical number for that, O Come O Come Emmanuel, and it went ok. Drove home  Saturday , and then had  Sunday  and  Monday ...

Hey again

Hi everyone, Not a lot to say this email. It's really weird to think that I only emailed you guys five days ago, it feels like it's been a lot longer. It's so crazy the way time works in the mission field. We were talking about it a little bit, and we noticed that whenever we're super busy, when we look back it seems like it took a lot more time. Like when we were in the parade, the days seemed to last longer than days in our first transfer. Speaking of, I don't think I sent the pictures of that. I'll have to do it when we get back to our apartment, we have all of them there.         Also, we'll be heading down to Halifax this week for the French temple trip! We're all pretty excited, it should be a lot of fun. We are doing a devotional after it, and I'm supposed to play a musical number in it, I was able to get this arrangement of O Come O Come Emmanuel that I am hoping I can learn before  Saturday . If not I'll probably play Consider t...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey all,        Hope you all had a great thanksgiving! You guys are probably still eating, and if so, give my love to the whole family! And Oshbe, Trina, etc. (probably slaughtered the spelling, so maybe just tell them  ). This Thanksgiving has just not been the same without all of you and Mom's yams. Have a few extras for me.         This last week has been super crazy busy, but I feel like that's not going to change any time soon as a missionary. We have been doing a bunch of finding and teaching, Elder Legault and I really want to finish his mission with a baptism, and we've been working hard to try to see that! One of our investigators, Ann, told us last night that she believes that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that made me SO FREAKING HAPPY! I never realized how much hearing people say that would mean too me. I heard it so much on Fast  Sunday , but really those two basic truths ch...

Hello again

Bonjour tout le monde! Sounds like things are fun back home. I wish that I could have gone to the Colorado polo trip, I MISS POLO!!! Not being able to swim and be in the water stinks. The performance back home sounds really good though, 3rd place is a lot better than we did last year, so keep up the good work! I can't wait to here about you guys winning the state championship while I'm out here!         I also bet that was a really good sacrament meeting too! [Our speakers were Eric & Marian Gardner, just released from the SL temple presidency] We have a French temple trip coming up on the  1st of December , which should be super awesome, all the French missionaries and members who can take a big trip to Halifax and spend two days working in the temple, in French! We're really excited about that, They came out with a rule that missionaries only get to go twice a year in the summer, and I thought I wouldn't get to go this year because there was one be...

The time's flown by...

Hey fam, Let me tell you, this transfer has absolutely flown by. People told me that missions were supposed to last a long time in the beginning, but I honestly feel like the time has flown by. Really good to hear the Utes won, my companions were asking me why I was smiling super big, and seeing that 48-17 just felt really good. I thought it was funny that you still have 50's into November, that would be really nice. This morning it was -5 C, so it's nice and chilly. The coats I brought work, so that's pretty good! (Really grateful for that windbreaker, it's bitter wind!) I got your letter too, the one with Ellie's that talked about it not getting there till Christmas, with the two talks, and your letter mom. It was definitely cool to hear from you guys! I am also grateful for the package, some of the Elders took the plastic bubbles in it home to go scare another Elder in Coal Harbor, and I thought that was pretty funny, but everyone really liked those waterme...
