First few days!

First few days are down, and it's going good! When I got here I went straight to a lesson in French, and six hours of lessons later I'm supposed to teach a lesson in complete French to an investigator, write a talk in French, and memorize the missionary purpose statement.
Our zone has about 60 missionaries, most speaking French, going to Lyon, France, but some to Paris as well. There are a lot of Haitian Creole speaking missionaries, and some Malagasy speaking missionaries as well. Two are going to New Caledonia (discussed below). I'm the only one going to Canada, let alone going to Halifax.
My companion is Elder Hable (like table but with an H) and he's really good. He's going to New Caledonia, which is by Australia. He took French for 6 years, and he's by far the best of our district so far. He likes baseball, favorite team is the Red Sox, so that's a plus, (Raelene) and is really kind to everyone. He got made the District leader last night, so we have to go pick up the mail twice a day for everyone. Speaking of the district, we have two Welsh missionaries, one from London, and a Romanian, so surprising diversity.
My P day is Friday, so you can expect to hear from me then. So far today we got up at 5:50 to go to the temple for the first session with our entire district. We'll probably go play some volleyball later and then practice the first lesson in Preach my Gospel to teach.
The 4 other guys in our room are Elder Cowley, Elder Ludkte, Elder James and Elder Bearnson. They are really cool, and they tell us that we'll pretty much be where they are in a week, but it doesn't feel that way.
The food here isn't that great. The lunches and breakfasts have been much better then the dinners, but it's definitely not worth standing in line for seconds! Normally it's enough anyway. The older Elders tell me there's ice cream on Wednesday, but I haven't seen any, so maybe they're just making it up...
Thank you to all of you guys, and see ya in 2 years minus 3 days! (sorry, im not doing the math)

Fewer days than Boo has years...

Hey all, Sorry if this one's the shortest yet. We're busy picking up the new missionaries, and the schedule has been crazy lately. Monday and Tuesday we had to create a system for everyone to get transferred, and then to transfer them all. We spent 24 hours planning, it was crazy. I've loved my mission. It's been so amazing. I wish I had more time, but there is more to do. I'm excited to see you all.  One of my favorite scriptures in the Book of Mormon on my mission has been 3 Nephi 5:13. "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." I can testify that sharing his word brings us joy too. Love you all. See you later! Elder Marsh

Hello from France!

Hey everybody!  Sorry for the confusion last week. I didn't get to read your email before I sent mine, but I was able to read it really quick before p day ended, because we were at the church. To explain, the method we had was different in Edmundston than in Bathurst. At Edmundston, we had internet all the time, and a laptop. In Bathurst, no such luck. The only time I have internet is at the church. So to give you the cut off time, we leave the church  Monday  at 2 (our time) so as long as you write before then, I can see it. Otherwise, I'll only have what's already on my phone to read. Also, thanks so much to the Barnes! I loved your little Easter package and notes. You guys are the best! This last week has been crazy!!! Since last p day a ton has gone down.  Thursday  night, we started the stop smoking program with Tommy. Tommy's a beast, hes been making so much progress, it's insane. We had our exchange with Miramichi elders this last week, El...

Sorry this is a short one

Good Morning America! (Or Canada. or Vietnam. Guess it depends on where you live, or if you're old enough for that joke.) Man, do I miss basketball and football. Super excited to hear some more details! I didn't even realize that the PAC 12 playoffs are starting. Not only that, March Madness is going to be getting going too. Hopefully the Utes will follow the pattern and play their best basketball while there's a Marsh on a mission. Also super excited to hear about the spring football starting. Posters look sick for Boo's campaign. I'd vote for him. Especially if the Rock, Thor, and Will Smith are. They must know how to vote, so I should do the same! And his hair is real! Obvious choice. Hope you kill it Boo. It sounds like you've had a super fun week though. The RootsTech sounds like it was super awesome. We have had a chance to watch just a little bit of it here, and it looks like there have been a lot of really cool speakers. Miss the Polo...
