Crazyness

Wow, hello everybody!

This last week's been absolutely crazy. First off, I'm getting transferred to Bathurst, I'll be serving with Elder Boardman, he's from Holladay too, we're super excited! I was also called to be the French district leader, so I'll be working on training for the French missionaries too. Really looking forward to it!

Second off, the French temple trip. Holy cow, best part of my life. Long story though.

To start, Elder Greenburg and I had to drive separately from the other missionaries. They were taking two members, Anik and Renaud, to Mirimichi, where they met more members there to take the members the rest of the way. They picked up Elder Boardman there as well, and came the rest of the way down. On the other hand, Elder Greenburg and I went to Fredericton, picked up Sister King and her harp, and drove with her all the way to Halifax. When we got to Truro, we got this HUGE storm. It was absolutely crazy, people were sliding off the highway. We just about slid into another car, but had to miss it by a quarter inch. Anyway, we got into Halifax an hour later than we planned. (Luckily we planned to have an hour to spare, so no problems there.)

There at the mission home, we met the Dyvrandes, and they are the best people ever. I can't even explain it, they are just so cool. I love them so much. (Side note, Meddy, their son, was playing the piano, and he is a prodigy! He's been learning for a year, and he's amazing!)

That first night, Sister Claus, (escort for Nathalie) her companion, Elders Boardman and Sawa-Sawa (that's the other elder in thee photo with E. Greenburg and myself, Sawa escorted for Jean-Claude) left early with the Dyvrandes to have the interview with the temple president. We were going go an hour later for when the temple session started. Then all of the sudden the Dyvrandes knock on the door again, they had gotten lost trying to get there, and needed someone to go with them. Obviously Elder Greenburg and I jumped up, and we left right away, they were already running late. So we start going, and as we go up the hill by the Mission home, the Dyvrandes car got stuck. We had to backtrack, and (after a quick call to Pres. Pratt) we ended up giving them a ride in our car.

The traffic was absolutely crazy. I had to teach Elder Greenburg how to force his way into the lane. As we were trying to get there, our lane of traffic stopped because someone got stuck in front of us.

The other Elders pulled up to us, and Elder Pierson was screaming out the window, saying, "I spit on you!" He didn't know we had the Dyvrandes in the car. We passively aggressively rolled down the window for the Dyvrandes, and he was so mortified.

We got there in time for the session. It was so incredible. So happy.

Next day, after session 2, we had a French devotional. Elder Olmsted and Sister Claus spoke, and they were awesome talks!!! The Dyvrandes bore their testimonies, and everyone was crying. They were talking about how when they moved, they were so worried that they wouldn't have anyone there for them, but then when the district there reached out to them, they knew that God hadn't forgotten them.

After the devotional, we went to their sealing. Elder Sawa Sawa and I served as witnesses. I don't even know how to describe how I felt. All I can do is keep writing that it was so awesome, but that really doesn't do it justice. If for the rest of my mission, I don't see anything else, it will have all been worth it to be there with their family. I can't say I've ever had this much joy. I understand why the Lord talks about "how great shall be your joy."

Sorry that this is a little rushed. kinda still scrambling to finish packing. Love you guys.

Transfers!!!

Hello!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ellie!!!!! I hope you had a great one!  So yes, I got transfered!! I'm going to Fredericton with Elder Olsen. We're going to be zone leaders, and I'm super excited!! Elder Olsen is one of my favorite elders, so we're going to be having a great time! They closed down Dieppe, so there are only two French areas now, Edmundston and Bathurst. Elder Smith went to Bathurst. The French areas are in New Brunswick, but the majority of the areas are English (like mine).  I had a pretty good week. Deji got baptized!!!!! It was so, so cool. I was one of the elders who found him, and I had a chance to teach him on exchanges. Then Sunday was really good too.  I'm doing really good health wise! I've had no problems. We found someone pretty cool. Her name is Monica, we found her through Facebook. We're going to teach her again tonight.  I liked going to the zoo a lot. We have played Settlers of Catan a lot together, except it...

Still no snow on my end

Questions we asked: How's it going with Wendy, Jacob and Brendan?  Any new investigators? How's it going with Elder Pitcher? Are you still a ZL? How was your week? Do you have the chance to exercise and play the piano there? Are you brushing and flossing at least twice a day?  What are you thinking career wise? You said that observing your mission presidents had given you insight on that... Hey all, Glad to hear things are going well back home. Funny that you should bring up taxes, there is a YSA member here who just came up from Texas, and during our lesson he kept talking about how ridiculous the taxes are here compared to back in the states. He's originally from here, but he goes to school there and is back while they figure out his visa stuff. He joined the Church down there, going on to show that America is the promised land!  Things are going well on my end. Still no snow, although there's a lot of wind now, and it's getting colder. The ...
Hey all, Glad to hear there’s been a good first week of summer for everyone. Sorry if this email is a little shorter, we had a bunch of car stuff to do at the start of the morning, and then we had scheduled to go seaglassing with the Lows this afternoon, which was really fun. I found a couple cool pieces, some are kinda rare, so it’s pretty neat. Peggy’s Cove is really pretty, there’s lots of beautiful parts of the maritimes, and it has a big place in literature. Ann of Green Gables (which he obviously has never read, since he spelled it without an e!)  is the most well known, but another popular figure is Evangeline. She comes from a poem about the Acadian removal, I want to read it when I get home, cause it sounds really cool.  Highlight of my week was definitely the baptism. Nadia got baptized on Saturday, she was someone we found in Moncton through the members there. Elder Holman and I started teaching her, then I got transferred to Halifax, and then Elder Hol...
